Thanks to our fabulous attendees, our most recent session in our cupping series was a smashing success. Alas, we didn’t have people sit on coffee buckets again (nope, we had real chairs), but we hope people didn’t mind too much. We talked about coffee processing, watched a really cool video from Kenneth Davids called the Passionate Harvest, and then cupped some coffees which had been processed by a variety of methods. We even had a special treat on the tables for those in attendance: the #1 Best of Panama Hacienda La Esmeralda. Yum!
If you missed out this time, you can still join us for the last two sessions of the summer cupping series. First up is on Sunday, July 1, when we’ll be talking about blending. We’re pretty excited about this one, as there will be more of a chance to allow for hands-on activities… you’ll be able to play the mad scientist and concoct your own custom blend of coffees! Last but not least, on Sunday, August 5, we’ll be discussing roasting techniques and how we go about fine-tuning the coffees here at Victrola.
Reservations are highly recommended, as we have a maximum of 20 attendees. Cost is $10/person/cupping, which includes a 1/2lb bag of coffee to take home. Just give a holla at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at the Roastery on Pike St (206.325.6080).
