Addison’s not the only new arrival any more: we received some bags of amazing new coffee at the Roastery this past week! First off, Atlas Coffee Importers found a little town called Monserrate (in the Huila region of Colombia) whose community puts out some of the best coffee we’ve had the pleasure of tasting! Check it out:
28 families growing this coffee in the idyllic high altitude community of Montserrate take great pride in constantly improving the quality of their beans… and we’re proud to report that it shows. When you take the first sweet, floral whiff of this amazing coffee, you can’t help but wonder if the taste will deliver as the aroma advertises: and it does! This Colombian manages a delicate mingling of juicy cherries, pipe tobacco, sandalwood, and, dare we say, chocolate chip cookies? You’ve got to taste it to believe it.
Yum, right? You can try it out at both of the Victrola cafes, both in retail bags and as a brewed coffee.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, our old friend Bruno showed up with 17 bags of coffee and two of his Brazilian buddies, Gustavo and Olav! What better way to mark the occasion than with a cupping? We couldn’t think of one, so off to the cupping room, where a very animated conversation ensued around the cherry wood table.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to be Brazilian to have the same experience… come to our Grand Opening shindig for our new Cafe and Roastery on East Pike this Friday! We’ll be conducting cuppings for the public all day long…
