We just released our newest offering, the Colombia Cauca Tierradentro Organic! When we tasted our sample of this coffee, we knew we had to have it. And now it’s ours, all ours!! Well, maybe not exclusively, but we get to drink it every day now, and that makes us happy. Here’s the skinny:
This is your classic, well-balanced, clean Colombia! Nestled between the Northern Andes and the Pacific Ocean, the coffee growing region of Cauca is known for setting itself apart from the ubiquitously abundant Colombian coffee industry. The quality is apparent here; with a smooth finish, milk chocolaty undertones, and delightful acidity that one would hope to be present in every Colombian coffee – just like in the old days. Let the Tierradentro take you back to the days of comforting percolated coffee with Grandma’s crumble cake.
Mmmm… crumble cake… that sounds so good. That aside, we’ve already been pressing the Tierradentro in the cafes, and now it’s available for purchase to bring home in whole bean format (both from the cafes and on-line).

That’s right, exactly one year ago we put away the paint buckets and chop saw and opened up the doors of the freshly completed, shiny-new Victrola Coffee Roasters at 310 E Pike St. We can’t believe how quickly the earth has traveled around the sun this year, and are so happy to have settled in to this new location. Thanks to all the supporters and customers who have come into V2 every day, every week… and maybe even just once this year! It’s the people who fill it that make the cafe special, and we’ve been so lucky to find this new space within the community. We’ll look forward to seeing you in the years and birthdays to follow!
On a side note, we were recently named as one of the Top 10 Coffeehouses in America by Forbes Traveler magazine… what a great birthday present! Check out the slideshow.

As out manager Tonya says, “what fun live political debate right here.” Here, here! So start planning your platform now, and we’ll know more details (like the start time!) shortly.
Diner mugs are back…

We had these mugs last year, and they were gone in a flash! No wonder, as they totally remind us of those wonderfully nostalgic bottomless cups of coffee at 1940s diners (that you can occasionally still find on the sides of two-lane highways, if you’re lucky). With a comforting weight and slight concavity, it just feels good to hold these mugs when they’re radiating warmth from being full of hot coffee. And of course, the Victrola logo lets you bring a little piece of the cafe back to your home/office/coffee-drinking-hideaway. We’ve got them in the cafes, and as always, online.
